No Amazon in Churchill

At a press conference in December, Pittsburgh United, Churchill Future, and Lawrenceville United held a press conference demanding that Churchill Borough Council reject Amazon’s bid to build a warehouse in the community. Western Pennsylvanians understand the importance of hard work and the need for everyone to have access to good jobs, but we know not every job is a good one. Amazon warehouses have twice the rate of serious injury compared to non-Amazon warehouse averages and a 150% annual turnover rate. For every warehouse with 1,000 workers, Amazon churns through 1,500 workers annually.
